All, DMT in Northern New England ??????? What do you think ? Vitts Communications, a new telecommunications provider in southern NH offers new internet services. <<Vitts is currently deploying the two most promising forms of XDSL: ADSL and SDSL.>> This is in an area dominated by NYNEX (Now Bell Atlantic) and Media One (cable provider) who is aggressively installing cable modems in the area. vitts.com <<Vitts Networks is a privately held telecommunications provider located in Manchester, New Hampshire. Because of the Telecommunications Act of 1996, Vitts was able to enter the local telephone market as a facilities-based conpetitive local exchange carrier. Vitts is the first competitive carrier in New Hampshire to offer data, video, and voice over the telephone network.>> From what I know the company was started with the assistance of one or more of the early Cabletron pioneers, and from their web site it looks like they will be using Cabletron networking equipment. We all know Cabletron has signed an agreement with MOT for ADSL using DMT line code (announced last year or so) and they also seem to have had a good realtionship with MOT. Looking at the product line up it looks like the ADSL downstream speed is 6 megabits. Could this be DMT ? Also is the MOT ADSL chip shipping for customers like Cabletron so they can develop and sell the DMT modems ? <<<Product Bandwidth Equipment Application ADSL 2-wire Copper 6 Mbps CSX 100 High-Speed surfing>>>vitts.com I just found this site and have done very little research. Thanks in advance for all of your thoughts, fact findings, and opinions. Best of luck to all, Andy
