Both Geno and Phenotipic are still research tools, not recomended for treatment decisions. 143 resistant mutations have been reported. Resistance can be delayed. No Replication = No Resistance Not all drug failure is from resistance, and not all resistance leads to drug failure (Increase the drug concentration) "Beware the sins from the Past", Genotyping is insensitive to minor species, so is phenotyping. Resistance does not predict a poor virologic response. The absence of resistance does not predict good response (because you can not see minor species) MDR (Multidrug Resistant) Virus can be transmitted and live as a minor species. They told us to check out a company called "Virologic", doing Phenotipic testing. Maybe good in the future for this type of test. JLL
