Isn't that the truth. But it seems he may be someone with integrity and fortitude. We can start with that as a foundation, given that non of our current politicians have integrity and fortitude in the face of overwhelming crises.

I have no idea what Petraeus might be like as a president. I don't like that he's military, and would be given the entire set of America's fighting men to play with.

That said, depending on the other candidate, he might temp me to vote (R) - if he ran as an (R).
