I have this idea that the president is manipulated heavily, to do things he ordinarily wouldn't. Like, "No, Mr. President, you can't let GS fail because blah, blah" - facts and consequences that scare the pres mightily.

That said, BEING president, there's always the possibility, the slim chance, that he COULD say screw 'em all, and do all the things we elected him to do.

Am I a believer in fairy tales?
