I don't know the answer to any of those and you probably can only get an answer from a QCOM insider, but there's no doubt in my mind that iTunes and Apps do help Apple sell more iPhones. Actual actuarial numbers are also something only Apple can give or even gestimate at.

So if you ax me, there was never anything wrong with the BREW strategy. Execution is another ball O wax.

Bottom line, is BREW sticky? Does it help QCOM sell more ASICs, services, and etc?

Does it have any impact on revenues? If they shut down BREW tomorrow, would it impact their bottom line? By how much?

Very different than your original question.
I think without a doubt that Brew helped gain interest in apps on cellphones and how to "shop" for them.
It primed the pump.

I think that the case for Brew (or something like it) can be made for years and years.

Does it impact revenues? I was always under the impression that Brew basically paid for itself.
And I don't think the carriers that currently use Brew would be too happy if Q shut down BREW tomorrow.

The million dollar question, and one argued here before, is does it help sell chips. I don't know but it can't hurt. How many lower-end phones at Verizon or Cricket -- 2 Brew carriers in the US -- do NOT have Q chips in them?
