That's true and great. But how is that going to get into carriers or kill Brew?? Even if a rogue carrier developed their own version of Android, they would need to develop the ecosystem. And for what end?

Agree whole-heartedly on potential threat to BREW. But that's just the nature of competition in the OS world.

As for the end, I can only speak from my own experience, we were developing a door security system that got it's code updates over wireless. brivo.com

We could have used the BREW or Android App system to implement it. At the time we used straight Linux. But the whole app update and runtime could have been highly beneficial to use.

Android could possibly be a starting point for wireless app developers that need a specialized wireless system like door security, or smart meters, etc....

Then again, BREW might be better.

I know what everyone is saying but I can not see QCOM being able to keep control of low-end phone's software for too long. I say sell BREW to Google while you are ahead and get out of the software business.

Give away MediaFlow for free to Apple and come up with a long term contract for the spectrum.

Would Dr. PJ's life become more simple if he did not have to deal with these two things?
