Yes, he needs to be a bit more polished, but that will come with better advisors as he moves up the ladder. He also needs some help with the grammar in his speech, but it appeared he was working off the cuff from notes or an outline. His track record with fiscal responsibility is going to be what will make him particularly attractive in 2012. He's youthful, tall, has hair, and is telegenic. That's a formula that works in these superficial times. He has some substance as well. Remember, I did say Obama would win against McCain back in 2006, so this has nothing to do with politics. It only has to do with who is the best fit in the field for the mood of the country at a particular time.
