He led the group that caught Saddam and killed Zarqawi, leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq, and a bunch of others like him. Though I think he should have been replaced after the RS article came out, effectiveness in taking out the enemy covers a lot of sins. He has a record to be proud of.

Ted, you are taking the narrative from the press word-for-word, then embellishing it with your own biases.

At least Obama looks committed, even somewhat, to finishing the job in Afghanistan. Or at least saving face. Patraeus sounds like a good pick.

Of course, the press now likes Patraeus. Right on cue. This after the "General Betray-us" nonsense.

Hollywood couldn't have scripted this better.

McChrystal a political and social liberal. Banned Fox, pro-Obama:

Even more about McChrystal: now it can be told. The story about him voting for Obama is not contrived. He is a political liberal. He is a social liberal. He banned Fox News from the television sets in his headquarters. Yes, really. This puts to rest another false rumor: that McChrystal deliberately precipitated his firing because he wants to run for President.
