interesting...my Kaiser Permanente PCP - a cute little corn-fed gal from Kentucky - acknowledged many uses for cannabis but for my condition prescribed hydrocodone, muscle relaxers, and meds to help me sleep....all of which i took for years.

then a couple of years ago i was referred to rheumatologist who prescribed the latest biologics. my injections cost $1415.00 per month (my cost =$685.00)

i said it before --- i WOULD HAVE stayed on those meds IF i could have afforded to.

instead i chose an alternative therapy: POT

i think the first year i spent around $250.00 for the entire year. now i spend a little more - probably closer to $500.00 a year BUT I DONT TAKE ANY OF THE OTHER DRUGS.

my health isnt perfect, but like this kid, IM A LOT HAPPIER :)

My wife used weed for nausea in cancer chemo therapy. Worked wonderfully and may have saved her life. You're way off base on this one.

All that aside, pot should be legal. The government has no right to dictate our blood chemistry no more than it has a right to dictate our gun ownership.

I tried it a couple times and couldn't figure out what the big deal was. Alcohol is many times more potent and causes much more damage and yet it is legal. Go figure.

my 24 year old son, an engineering major with straight A's, has long hair. quite a bit longer than it is here:

one of his fellow students in his lab says to him:

"so, your a pothead, huh?"

he replies "NO"

[that's the truth]

the guy grimaced in disbelief and says "yeah, right"

He says that fellow students assume he is a pothead because he has long hair.

i chuckled and said: "...and people assume im not because my hair is short"
