It's probably too much to expect that the Government (either State or Federal) require receipts every month for the expenditures that support the money taken from the amount that Government has put on their credit card...or does it?

Those of us who do pay taxes Federal and/or State, do have to have documentation to back up our claims....

Why shouldn't people who are getting "free money (from the US taxpayers)" have to back up their actual expenses with receipts?

It could be done easily enough....every transaction they make would have a receipt, and that receipt would have the number of their "credit or debit" card on it....

Is our Government so afraid that the people who inhabit their offices and chambers will lose votes if this is enacted????

Are the people who inhabit Government offices and chambers SO AFRAID they will lose votes if this is enacted?

Good Lord, it should be the one thing that the taxpayers should expect!!!!!! This should be part of the "terms and conditions" of getting free (to them) money!!!!

Receipts would eliminate having to dictate anything to the stores/casinos/etc that just provide the service. The onus would be on the individual, because if the Government employees at all levels had any brains at all, they would know that there should be some accountability as well as some guidelines for spending.

PS....Just in case the Democrats/doogooders say this would be too time consuming, or invasive.....my retort would be that every day in every single state in the union, grocery stores, etc track what we buy every time we are in there, if we allow them to do it by giving our phone number to them!!!!!
