We are not taxing gas nearly enough. Its not even enough to maintain our roads and bridges let along build mass transit. Why should it be burdened with building mass transit? That should carry its own weight. Why not? The goal is get away from an oil economy, not just increase domestic production. Then why don't you guys do what you claim you want. Stop driving, flying, using anything made from petroleum? I have reduced my driving dramatically in the last 5 years, take the train to Portland and Vancouver, and I can't fly because of my lungs. There was central planning in the USSR. Everything was planned centrally. It didn't work. Nonsense. You never heard of the Gosplan? Five year plans? PR nonsense. They planned the entire economy centrally. It didn't work. IOW exactly what liberals want us to do for our energy. Nope. You know that's not true.
