Re: "This is going to end badly." OF COURSE it's going to be bad for them! At this point in time all of their available options have various degrees of harm connected to them. (Still... as far as the locals' situation goes, stiffing the foreigners and/or defaulting on their overseas debt is likely to produce the least amount of harm for them. Still... every option is bad at this juncture... but committing the next two or three generations of Icelanders to labor under massively higher tax rates just to pay back some foreigners who were after unrealistically high deposit yields is NOT something that is EASY to sell to the voters!)
