Maybe so. Most days the Daily Mail isn't fit for birdcage liner, I have no reason to accept this story simply because it appears there :-)

IMO, if a recall occurs AAPL @ $300/share is a pipe dream until at least Christmas, if then. I'll be watching for good short/option entries and I rarely trade individual issues. I would expect a sharp spike up to shake the first wave of shorts and offer longs an escape hatch, after that gravity would rule for a time.

As for a phone, I'm good for some time to come so there's no practical reason to favor any at this time. I expect the commoditization of the technology and application space before I need to make a purchase decision. This would favor open architectures, as the whole "App Store" thing is preying on the clueless in my opinion, whether from Apple or Google.

In fact, the whole Google vs. Apple dichotomy is built for the simple minded, it's a much richer world than simply where the marketing budgets happen to be at the moment. Sadly, in the marketplace of ideas so many folks only ever learn to shop retail ;-)

BTW, irrelevant if this is the real Steve Jobs or an imposter the fact is that all you have to do is a search for "iphone 4 recall" on Google's news page to see that the screams are getting louder... yesterday there were only some 300 articles... today more than 1400 all screaming about the fiasco of Steve Jobs reply on not holding the iPhone a certain way... LMAO...
