So it's a proven fact that this would have sucked up all the oil and averted the whole catastrophe? Or is that just a slick headline without any scrutiny?

I like this part:"One Dutch research institute specializing in deltas, coastal areas and rivers, in fact, developed a strategy to begin building 60-mile-long sand dikes within three weeks."

They had a strategy to begin building a 60-mile berm in three weeks. And when, pray tell, would that 60-mile construction project have been done? By now? If not, it's an expensive beach with oil already behind it.

And why is it that Europe has so much better spill equipment? Seems like it is maintained by the governments, why weren't we doing the same as offshore drilling got deeper and deeper in the last decade?

Once again, Obama's only "sin" in all this was not moving to clean up the giant steaming shitpile left at Interior much sooner. Because the evidence that it was a shitpile just gets deeper and deeper and deeper,

Shame on him for not grasping deeply enough the potential for catastrophe that Bush and Cheney had set in motion.

Kinda like letting Wall Street and CDO's run amok; when did that happen again? Oh yeah, when the "deregulators" were in charge.
