OPTIONS, INVESTMENT STYLE, A SIN ??????????????? There has been some discussion on this thread about how a Christian should invest.. I would like to open this topic for discussion with a refrence to Matthew 25 starting at verse 14 to 30. I feel that this parable taught by Christ holds many keys to the kingdom. Matthew understood money, being a tax collector and receiving a "take or cut of his collections", I feel we can assume that he was not honest in his dealings so he among the desciples paid very close attention to Christ when he was told this parable. Christ even started with the statement in verse 14 " For the kingdom of heaven is as a man traveling into a far country , who called his own servants and delivered unto them his goods"... Notice 1. He called his own------not anyone else. 2. We have already been delivered the "goods" from Christ. It is not anything we have to attain on our own. verse 15...... one man received 5 talents ( $150,000.00 in gold ) another 2 talents ( $60,000.00 in gold ) and another 1 talent. Each man received Vs. 15 "according to his What ??"" his several ability, "" Several abilities means this... God is going to give you a few abilities, to each person they are unique to each individual, and you are going to receive maybe ONE, TWO,, maybe a few more... God is looking at the overall picture He decides who gets what, basically we are a "cog, or two or five on the wheel and must function within the kingdom, in unisome with other Christians. Now skipping ahead to vs. 30 " And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth" . My main topic of discussion is this.....this man received the most severe and harsh punishment that is depicted in the scripturers---worse than" woe unto you" which is the warning in other references.. Think about it......why was the punishment so severe ?????? In many respects it doesn't add up, it doesn't make sense.. First connection....can we assume that as in the parable of the unjust steward that the master is not meant to be depicted as GOD..? ...........................In Christ ..........gregor
