I remember flying from Miami to somewhere else and then to St. Kitts. It was very hot when I got there and I bought a bottle of flavored over-proof rum and checked into my room. I don't like rum and I don't like flavored anything but it was all I could get. I sweated off ten pounds while I tried to get to sleep sipping over-proof rum and watching t.v. I peeked out my door next morning and wondered where I was there was so many black people. I had to check my ticket to figure it out. I showered and went for a long walk to burn off my hang-over vowing never to drink again. I do remember going to the Spanish club some nights that was frequented by ladies from the Dominican. I knew pretty much everyone on the island by the time I left.
