What we are saying is that there is simply no evidence or even logic that points towards religion being true and especially that it is how we become to be. All the science overwhelmingly says we evloved from other primates and we have extensive evidence to prove that. We think all religion is "make believe" as there simply is no evidence. So what happens if there is no evidence is that people make up all sorts of things. Look at how many different sects of Christianity and Islam there are. There are a zillion interpretations of the bible. One can find anything in the bible they want to support their beliefs. Right down to talking in tongues and handling snakes and wearing special underwear-lol. Mankind started to live truly civilized lives not until they discovered "reason" which is now called the "age of enlightenment", 17th century. REason is how we got democracy, got rid of slavery, gave women the right to vote and ended segregation. Until we developed reason few thought about those isssues as being wrong, including christians. The last section of the US to desegregate was the bible belt. So we athiests categorize all religion as myth. As far as all the wars go, those, imo, are simply the result of ignorance. Just as we now see slavery as ridiculous, so we are starting o see war as ridiculous e.g. the unguarded boarders in the world like Canada and the US. Canada knows we will never invade them. It was the ignorant, generally speaking, who support unecessary wars like the Vietnam war and now Iraq and Afghanistan. Reason and self actualization is what mankind must aspire to. Were the American, French, Russian and Chinese revolutions, WWI, WWII, Vietnam and Iraq, among hundreds of other warsere from the 20th Century forward, caused more by belief in God, organized religion, intellectual idealism, nationalism or just plain old common human greed, as ALL wars can invariably be traced back to? Does belief in God really cause war? You decide.
