I can think of a couple of 'scenarios' (there are probably lots) which have been used to set national policy while being no where near representative of the people who would be effected by that policy. * 1.4million women per year would not be forced to have a rusty coat hanger used on them in some back alley if we did not have Roe vs Wade legislation. * The state legislation that authorized small stake gambling in resort towns is not directed at the tourist who just wants to toss back some red eye and throw down a couple of bucks on a river boat or in a 1800's western style saloon. It targets gambling addicts. * I've lost track of how many times you've thrown this truck driver example up but it is not characteristic of the problem or the solution to illegal activity in this country related to immigration. It is a 'fear' based exception that has some tangental connection to the issue and should be dealt with that way. I have friends, neighbors, and relatives who are Latino. Besides the one's you ran away from in Southern California, do you even know any Latino people? You definitely don't speak for any of the Latino people I know.
