Forgetting all the origin stuff, evolution, etc, what history shows us is that humans do not behave well without developing their minds to be able to execute logical reasoning.

NO where on earth are there any exceptions to this. The more educated the country, the more democracy and humanity you will find. Always. It is an equation.

You will not find the correlation between democracy and humanity with any religion, that you will find with education.

So while wisdom is a great thing, essential e.g. Buddha, confuscious, Huxly, Russell, etc unless the person can follow their concepts it is useless.

So general education has to come first to train the mind to think logically, so it can understand wisdom, and then the many paths of wisdom can be learned. But one cannot put the cart before the horse.

When I watched the HBO special on the right wing in the south, during McCain's campaign down there, what struck me more than anything was that every single person they interviewed could not organize logical arguments and most of the time had to search for single words.

When pressed to explain socialism and communism they had no idea. And I know most do not know the difference between a political system and an economic system.

There are no exceptions to the above in all of history that I know of.
