I don't focus on broader growth and the macro stuff one-tenth as much as I track my particular portfolio companies and how they are performing. Experience taught me that companies doing well will eventually be rewarded for that in their share price, even in a sideways meat grinder like this year's market. Saves me having to wrestle with a ton of big-picture stuff that most mere mortals aren't up to evaluating properly anyway. And it keeps me from being paralyzed when there are still good companies to buy under the radar.
