Matt Simmons notion that the well casing has been ejected, and the BOP is not connected to the well bore, is flatly contradicted by the flow of oil from the BOP.

Just like Matt Simmons' comments about young Don Vidrine, BP's 63 year old Well Supervisor on the Deepwater Horizon - he doesn't make any sense.

"I really sympathize with our government. I think BP had such a reputation of being best experts in deep-water. Well it turns out that reputation wasn't warranted, we now know.

You had a young guy who'd never even been on an deep water rig before, and he was telling the great people from TransOcean, who knew what they were doing, to shut-up. So that guy is in as hot a water as you can imagine, as is Tony Hayward. And I think the government we're going to find is going to take all of their cash.

Matt also explains why relief wells won't be able to shut-in the well, "because the blow-out removed all of the casing from the well".

And besides, "they're drilling in the wrong place".
