The Icelandic Govt made the Icelandic taxpayers responsible for reimbursing foreign investors at the failed Icelandic banks for their losses, even though there was no explicit deposit insurance contract. WTF does your average Icelander have to do with losses by investors. We have the same problem here with this too big to fail BS. As taxpayers, look how we are getting stuck with the Trillion dollar plus tab for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. I didn't sign any contract providing protection for these failed socialist institutions.
