It's a good question.

<<Consciousness is a concept, which isn’t adding anything in the current vein of discussion>>

What?

We are bound by the restrictions of language concepts when discussing our experience. Consciousness is a language concept and you could stop a discussion on that point. It is an idea which cannot be viewed in the wholeness of what that idea represents as an aspect of experience. You can go beyond that point, but the limitations of language become more awkward. The discussion of what consciousness is, usually revolves around self awareness and general awareness of sentient creatures. Goswami, whom you've referred to before, considers consciousness, not matter, to be the ground of all existence, and he does a pretty good job of addressing the subject in a rational manner.
