"Americans need to understand who is screwing them over. Not doing a great job so far." BOTH viable options are screwing us over. There is no "solution", no "cure" but to bite the bullet, accept an America in steep decline with the bottom beyond the distant horizon, invisible. Some pol or the other will somehow hang our plight on foreigners, and fearmonger us into a war, to give us someone to blame, hate and kill. Maybe sides will be chosen and the nukes will fly. I hear intoxicants do well in depressions. Blotto folks don't have to ponder their condition.
