Most of us in the US had ancestors who came here, and those ancestors obeyed the laws that were in force in their day.

If you find out how my ancestors got here, let me know. I know where some of them are buried, but I don't know how they got here.

I know some came from England, Wales, and Germany.

By the way: "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free...." are the kind who should go to the front of the line for application for citizenship, because they are the ones who will earn it.

Those who want entitlements or a market for their poison and victims for their crimes, and Sharia Law for everybody, get lost.

Did I explain myself clearly enough this time?

On reflection, I do remember one of my ancestors came over from England on environmentally friendly wind power.

Here's what I found about him:

"English" John
Born 1684 in England
Died after 1750 in Nansemond, Virginia or adjacent Chowan County (later called Gates County) North Carolina depending on which survey is used.

I am not responsible for nor do I condone everything that he did after he got here.

It's ridiculous to think along pure libertarian lines like that in the real world. What would prevent an army from slowly coming across the border, setting up a base and taking over the country by force?

Sounds silly, but in Stossel's view government has no role at all. So a nuc bomb, guns of all kinds and heavy weapons could be purchased at the local five and dime by an army of marxists.

No sense having a country if you don't control the border to some degree.
