Things move in cycles. People are constantly predicting permanent political realignments and they never happen. Given time, every group in power proves to not be any more effective than the previous group and popularity is lost. The cycle keeps repeating.

He should not "bask" too much. RealClearPolitics is a rightward leaning organization. Even though the poll is a Gallup poll, they've--RCP--most likely cherry picked for items they like.
