This a.m. I ditched my GDX short in favor of an equal-sized SPY short. Thought Gold would hang tight. As of right now GDX is down over 5%. SPY down less than 2%.

Yep...it's the euro pump....the banksters must be massively short gold and had to do something, IMO. ;-) We'll see how long this lasts. Currencies are spinning out of control.

Just remember with gold....they constantly try to shake you out....and manipulate....it competes with their paper crap....but it always ends up going higher in the longer run. It's how the boyz play the game. Their paper crap is....crap. LOL. ;-)

Yes, many of my stops - which I fortunately tightened recently - are getting hit. Taking profits is so........'50s. I am grumbling at a low level but not particularly upset. Putting in some lowball GTC buys, see what happens in the next few weeks. I have no clear vision of the reason for the downturn in gold or in the dollar. Absent that, I am taking no chances. My gut tells me that gold is going to come roaring back, but I know exactly what intuition is worth here---less than zero.
