you're exactly right. we're becoming known as 'toxic americans' that no one will do business with. not only is it becoming increasingly difficult to open an overseas bank account, but they are actually closing american accounts that are already open. as you said, in many countries an american passport make one a client non grata. our government treats it's own citizens so bad that no wants to do business, or perhaps better said, can do business with us.
