When the independents sit around bitching and moaning that we haven't fixed immigration, changed our energy policies, reined in Wall Street and made sure Social Security and Medicare will survive, they should look right in the mirror to figure out why. They don't want to vote for people who will address those issues, fine. They vote for a party that will clearly ignore them all, fine.

But don't come bitching to others later on when they told you so before.

You simply don't wish to acknowledge that today's Republican Party is definitely not your father's Rep Party. Go back and check just how many times the Rep senate leaders invoked filibusters against Clinton in the first two years of his presidency compared to Obama. Just a different world. A majority of 50 is simply no longer enough; it takes 60, at best. Obama has definitely, on this score, done better with his bare majority than Clinton did with his.

And Clinton had, in George Mitchell, one of the best majority leaders in the history of the senate. Obviously, not true of Harry Reid.
