koan, i'll argue with them...

krugman is effectively arguing that the solution to avoiding a hangover is more booze.

not only is he wrong, he's an idiot or he's a criminal.

the reason that the corporate controlled media puts a guy like krugman up as an expert is simply because he's an enabler for the largest peace time looting operation in the history of planet earth.

the points krugman misses (hides?):

1. debt based money is designed to collapse once the debt threshold has been hit (people can't take on unlimited debt - so there is a limit). debt based money is a fraud. krugman needs to talk about how unstable debt based money is and work to change it.

2. the recession is a HEALTHY response to unhealthy excess.

THE DAMAGE HAS ALREADY BEEN DONE. THERE IS NO AVOIDING IT.

the only option is to minimize the impact by taking the hit now or kicking the can down the road and increasing the severity of the collapse.

it is that simple.

oh, and don't believe the propaganda - think for yourself.

How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think. Adolf Hitler

Just think - compounding debt upon a debt problem CAN'T FIX THE PROBLEM!

WWII was a special case....not only were we "spending", we had other countries productive capacities literally getting blown to bits! Thats a sure fired cure for depression, because you have NO excess capacity in that scenario, of practically every kind of product.

That will never be repeated, because the next world war will also wipe out the residual producing populations as well as the capacity. To put it very mildly......

So the "solution" for the current depression was to avoid it like hell in the first place! Unfortunately Greeny and Bennie were hell bent on a ZIRP for every "crisis" real or imagined for the last 20 years. A sure fire recipe for disaster.
