Actually I went looking at some of their other stuff and that song is atypical. In fact a lot of the comments from their fans are uncomplimentary. But I like it for a variety of reasons. On one level it's about persistence (in a pugilistic way), and it's persistent, so the theme and the format agree. I like the "pissing the night away" lyric with the bar setting, from what I saw of their other stuff this is probably what they think about the song generally. I like the "Don't cry for me, next door neighbor" although I don't know if it's an Evita or a Madonna reference (or something else entirely) (Don't cry for me, Argentina). I like the guy sitting in the chair around 1:40, and a little before that, briefly both times. The first internal name I gave myself (in high school some time) was the watcher and that guy reminds me of that. I like the horn and the fact that they have a female horn player. I like that there's a Geraldo guy in the Karaoke sequence. I like the cacophony at the end with the main "I get knocked down" and the horn and the "pissing the night away" all together. I like Australian accents. There were a few other things I caught that I liked-oh yeah, in the general bar scene near the end the female singer is in it with the camera angle just over her shoulder, the one with the glasses. She's tall, a little gangly, maybe, jabbering away. When she sings she is very precise in how she uses her mouth, so I liked seeing the different aspects of her. And I actually like the song and I like that they made it, and I like the sentiment. Other than that... ARS
