Wharf Rat; Peak Energy - Peak Economy Thanks for posting. A very interesting read. This is why I argue that we need to move to a consumption tax - a VAT tax. And it is also why I think Krugman is so very shallow in his thinking. Even if we can juice the economy out of this recession/depression is that really a long term solution? Do we really want an economy like the roaring housing days where people built McMansions and we all mortgaged our selves so we could have two or three homes and a yacht and a motorhome?
