Clinton Not Only Justifies Byrd’s KKK Past, He Lies While Doing It "..they mention that he once had a fleeting association with the Klu (sic) Klux Klan..." Fleeting? Byrd joined the KKK in 1942 and was a leader of his chapter. He wrote a letter praising the KKK in 1947 and defended the Klan in his Senate run in 1958. He voted against Thurgood Marshall and Clarence Thomas and he filibustered the 1964 Civil Rights Act. breitbart.tv clinton lied like this everyday of his Presidency, but libs thought he was so smart, easy to sound smart when you lie about everything. If the internet was up like it is today he would have been laughed out of office after 4 years
