Disclosure, I am a hard core liberal democrat.

The dems have tried over and over and over, for the elast 50 to get public financing of campaigns and they have always been blocked by the Republicans.

I know that for sure.

why should i, or anyone else be *forced* to pay for a campaign of a candidate, under force of law, that i view as the antipathy of what i want to see in government

no...

you pay for your own sorry-assed campaign from YOUR donors and if that isn't enough, that pretty much tells the story, no?

Both parties loath each other to be sure, but they are united in their ceaseless cynical contempt for the middle class.

To quote the B-52's (on another topic, but it applies):

"Everybody goes to parties
They dance this mess around"
