I'm not for direct democracy, given the intelligence, education and global experience of most Americans.

On intelligence, I don't think that we're any worse off now than we were 100 years ago. Same gene pool. But then again maybe Mike Judge (Idiocracy) and Devo are on to something...

On education, I believe that there's been a deliberate effort to subvert our public education system. History is not taught in school as it was when you and I were kids. If they're paying attention in class and are buying what they're being sold in class, our kids are graduating with a built-in complex.

I work with lots of people that grew up overseas. In general, they come here just as ignorant of the U.S. as Americans would be in their countries.
