Have you ever noticed that somehow, right wingnuts don't consider military/defense industry jobs as "government" jobs? That "waste, fraud and abuse" somehow gets overlooked if it's military, which is where most of that sort of thing happens, especially nowdays? WWII was a massive GOVERNMENT jobs program, involving a massive takeover of private industry by the government.

Things just got worse and worse until the switched over to a war time economy. Which, of course, involved government created jobs and massive deficit spending. Their economy quickly turned around.. The big three.......Germany, France and the UK....have elected conservative gov'ts that all want to do the same thing...reduce their deficits just like Hoover did in the early 1930s. Of course, its Europe.....and I think they will wake up to reality before its too late. At least, I hope so.
