Why not go all the way to Nogales or Juarez? Save you the weekend trips over the border.

I'd suggest living there for an extended vacation first, for maybe 3 months. It's dull, hot, but scenic. It is close to the border if you wanna play Butch Cassidy for awhile. The have a "college" there, the University of Arizona. Don't get me started on that. Here is their foremost scholar:

I suspect he did not heed the warning not to take the brown acid at Woodstock.....but he's not so bad. It's the U of A students who are the problem. But hey, you swing from the left side, you may dig it.

In all fairness there is an enclave of well-to-do folks who live there/retired there or have a 2nd home there. Paul McCartney was one, So there is some attraction (as there is with Sedona, Santa Fe or Taos) that I don't necessrilyh "get".

I'd take Austin over Tucson in a heartbeat, but that's me.
