Answer: I don't "trust" ANY single source of information or ANY single methodology to be entirely correct.

Suffice it to say though that the BLS's calculations tend to *average out* (over a full business cycle) pretty close to the mark... but they are generally wildly off at major trend change points (so: off at the BOTTOM of cycles, and also at the TOP of cycles because of the "birth/death cycle" assumptions they plug in --- which, by the way refer to assumed 'births' of new BUSINESSES and not to actual people's births....)

However, that all being said, I fear we are CURRENTLY far behind the curve as far as job creation goes... given that we really need around 125,000 NEW JOBS each and every month simply to keep up with normal growth of our population.

We are far short of that mark I believe....
