My new issue of Montana Outdoors came, and it had an article about hawkweed by Rick Bass. fwp.mt.gov

Read the article. You might want to follow Rick's example and pull up your hawkweed.

Rick is a novelist. He lives in a ranch very much like yours (I assume) near Troy, Montana. I really hope you get to meet him someday. He's pretty shy and doesn't socialize much, but he writes wonderfully.

I actually haven't met him, but I did ask him a question at a panel discussion he participated in last fall at the Montana Book Festival.

Hubby was in a hurry to get out of the store, or I would have questioned further the "saw the bear and ran story"....either way ....standing there....or ....running...didn't seem like good alternatives to me. But what are you "gonna" do when you see a BIG BEAR right in front of you.....Yes, I'd back away slowly, but it would be my luck to either back into a downed log, or fall in a big pit while I was backing away.... YIKES!
