Dougin, almost every PC being sold contains a modem. So if people are buying PCs they are buying modems. Many of the new PCs have 56K modems. Also, x2 does much better than 33k. I regularly get 46K to 50K when I connect to AOL using my x2 modem. Others do too. The x2 is a good product that will be around for many years before reasonably priced alternatives are available.

"You are not getting it. Coms isn't selling modems."

Yes Doug they are selling modems by way of their USR division, and more than any other modem maker.

"Nobody is buying 56k modems."

Yes again Doug 56K modems are selling, just not as well as they would be if an ITU standard were in place.

"Nobody will buy 56k modems. "

Again it's yes Doug, and 69+% of them are x2 modems.

"Phone lines don't go faster than 33.6, generally. This news is just dawning on people. As full implications sink in, stock will continue to sink. And it is the end of the line for the product line. "

Doug I know many people who have bought 56K x2 modems...and all report a very noticeable increase in download speeds and are happy they made the purchase. I am the only one I know who has a problem with phone lines preventing me from getting a substantial improvement.

"The acq. of USRX is increasingly looking like a lousy, overprice, move. "

Doug I take that statement to be one of your own based on your opinion and no other information. If I'm wrong please state your sources.

"And then there is tax selling season for the looser, just about to heat up."

Who is the loser you refer to? And what is the tax season in relation to the fiscal year?

"I got out of my last part of this one earlier this week."

You got out with a profit I hope!
