Story in the local paper this morning

On Monday, Delray Beach police identified Pinkney, 23, as the gunman shot and killed about 10 p.m. Saturday while attempting to rob the Community Food Market at 139 N.W. Fifth Ave. When the clerk saw a man with a gun, he ducked behind the counter where he grabbed a gun. Pinkney started shooting at the clerk, who returned fire and hit Pinkney in the chest, police said.

Pinkney was lying on the ground in front of the store, still clutching a semiautomatic handgun in his right hand, when police arrived. He was taken to Delray Medical Center where he died.

If the clerk wasn't armed he would be dead
