Yep. It took war, which wasn't just Govt wasteful spending like we saw in the years up to it, but rather we saw regular businesses and small and large making investments in research and development and developing new useful products for which therre was demand, many of which translated from war or war logistics materials directly to the consumer. You can spend Govt money all day producing purple bathing suits that nobody wants that require no R&D and it is a TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY!!!
