1) Arpaio is not my hero. I've voted against him each and every time he's run. 2) Every other "civilized" country in the world actually enforces their immigration laws. We are the slackest and it's made a material impact on the border state economies (especially Cali and Arizona). No reason not to bring our enforcement up to code (even if no material change is made in the law, which SB 1070 does NOT do...it simply hands illegals off to ICE for further action). 3) Freedoms for citizens are FAR more compromised by the activities of the DHS, FBI, and HHS than anything the immigration law does. Patriot Act II is a perfect example. The DOJ did not challenge SB 1070 based on Civil Rights, it challenged it because (they claim) it infringes on Federal Power and control. Illegal aliens are not citizens. They do not carry the same responsibilities and are consequently not afforded the same rights. Jews in Germany WERE citizens. If you don't see the difference, you are blind.

illegal immigrants get special privileges in this country. for example, during an illegal immigration rally they set fire to a CA restaurant while people were in it! i'll bet you didn't even hear about it. i'm not sure anyone was arrested or even cared that much. however, if a citizen tea party member had even said anything about burning down a restaurant - front page freaking news and msnbc would be running specials all day and night. h*ll how many miles deep into AZ are off limits to citizens now?
