So where do the higher prices and higher wages for all get paid for? You abhor deficit spending so everything in the world has to be strictly pay-go, yet you fear deflation as a result.

There is a theme running through much of what I read in economic posts lately, that there must be a magic reset button we can push that will right all the imbalances in our economy and make everything work in harmony with sustainable growth again.

Of course, the total lack of a sustained record of smooth growth in the past should be factored in there somewhere. Growth gives way to recession every 7-10 years.

Along with the total absence of defining what the magic BUTTON would do.

If you want to see deflation, just force a balanced federal budget in FY 2011 and watch the fur fly.
