re kids being too soft...

As a kid I picked up extra spending money in the summer picking strawberries, blueberries, etc. Local farmers had bus routes that would pick us up in the AM and drop us off in the PM. It was good honest work for a kid 13 or 14 years old and I think instructive. Today child labor laws actually preclude farmers from hiring youths that age today. Big brother has deemed them too fragile to do that kind of work.
