Also, how wrong was Brinker's prediction at the start of 2008 for S&P500 earnings? Could he have been any more wrong? I do this more for hobby and some extra bucks with the success ... but one of the best timers, Don Wolanchuk, taught me and a few others his TA system many years ago so we can help double check his hand calculations... it is saying the June/July action is very similar to the 2008/2009 bottoming process... Another, who posts as groundzero here, is amazing and posts his trades in real time on both long and short. I tracked him for a long time and he made quite a bit... Also, IBD said yesterday was a "follow-through" day, and has thus changed their market outlook from "market in correction" to "market in confirmed rally". Of course none of these are 100% reliable and your "fundamental timer" Brinker was about as wrong as you can be giving a gift horse buy near the very top in 2007 just before the worst bear market since the great depression... so I still MOSTLY look to buy good companies at great valuations that I'm happy to own in any market. Then I trade their volatility... These are two good TA sites I mostly follow Wolanchuk Subject 52296 GZ Subject 57934
