Ike, hi, hope you had a good trip...

While I feel the "deflation" idea being bantered about the Globe is way overblown, I also feel that only certain economies will be affected by the currency, and potential devaluation of Yen & Brazilan Real..

The biggest factor IMO of any REAL problem is the ACTUAL effect of any slowing of Asian economies on the tech sector...I am not sure that the major companys there will cut back their respective capital equipment purchases... Market share is MUCH more important in the scheme of things..

The fiercly competative nature of their business acumen, makes me believe NO CO. will undermine their position in the Global Markets...

And moreover I have a sense that the World Economies are in good shape at this very moment in time...Sure there are problems in some pockets of the Globe, but they have been noticable for awhile now... Nothing really new there...

Ike I think your correct about US perking on all cylinders, however Alan G, will raise rates at the drop of a hat IMO... In fact if the World currency crisis was not apparent today, i now feel he would have moved right here and right now...I see no slowing of our economy, in fact just the reverse....Trouble ahead, my friend...We'll see, i'm sure of that...

INTC reporting good stuff, but it looks like it will be ignored, not a good sign...Much negative news out there in the world, but you know what IKE???, this too shall pass...

What looks bleak today will turn to sunshine soon...Always does...

My regards to you, always enjoy your insightful thoughts... Jerry

Hey, Iqbal, I agree with what you say about inflation and deflation. These days those terms are thrown around so much it sickens me. You can't have both, if half the people are crying inflation and the other half deflation, then chances are you're in the middle, which is a good thing. On the other hand, if investors are repeating these terms as excuses to sell, we find ourselves where we were 2 weeks ago, when everyone took all pieces of news as negative and a bunch of selling took place.
