Note that it is gold and silver - this can be good for Platinum and palladium. ;-) Pretty stupid to have done this in an election year. There is a good chance that the Democrats will effectively loose the House, they may have a thin majority, but that majority would be based of conservative Dems (blue dogs, Clinton (Bill) Democrats, and similar) that very little liberal legislation could get through the House.

Boy, lots of optimism in the readings today. I had a hunch that Russell might have perked his ears up at this week's action. And he's gone from outright bearish to neutral. Something's in the wind. A stock jam job into the US mid-term elections? Memories are soooo... short. Interesting juxtaposition in the Week in China magazine. One article talked about all the CCTV cameras in this one town. The other how a few observers might have prevented the dyke failure. So... why don't you become a national hero and suggest they move the cameras out of peoples' bathrooms and onto the leaky dams? Now that's appropriate technology. CD
