Well, I do live in Evanston (a very nice town in many ways). That article reminded me of a conversation I had with a soccer parent on the way to a game last year. Northwestern engineering professor, nice guy, he was even Jon's volunteer soccer coach some years ago before things got a little more competitive, so I've known him a while. He proposed doing a study (academics, always doing studies) to identify the best aspects of capitalism, socialism, and communism and combine them in a "best practices" socioeconomic system. I was taken aback, didn't have a clue as to where to start deconstructing that idea. I may have mentioned it before, it really stuck with me. The things I have to put up with.
