Who cares? So the GOP sweeps both houses of Congress and the charade of governance continues, while our economy and international clout continue to decline. The GOP isn't going to solve any of these problems, just as the Dems have failed do so.

Welcome to the new normal. Both parties are shills to corporations, which means regulations and laws will not be enforced, because that would hurt their bottom lines.

If you want to attack the root cause of immigration, you need to attack the companies who hire these illegals. Make them pay through the nose and hire one auditor to audit suspect US businesses for every border guard you hire. Then you'll hit illegal immigration in its pocket book. After all, they come here for jobs. If they can't get the jobs, then there is no reason to be here.

Now question for you: do you really think the GOP is going to vote for anything that makes things harder on US businesses? Fat chance. In short, you think the GOP will solve problems, but they won't. They are just as bought and paid for as the Dems.

The US is no longer a Republic. We're still a Democracy, but it is a sham. What we are is a Fascist police state. The people just haven't woken up to that fact yet.

>>What BS. I'm quite sure that with a valid US drivers license and the ability to speak flawless American English without an accent, no cop is going to hassle him in any way.<<

Agreed.

The majority of Americans are fed up with our disfunctional immigration and border policies...

Yeah me too.

The GOP fallacy has always been to cook up some half ass "solution" and then proclaim it as the real deal and anybody that disagrees is some sort of unpatriotic malingerer.

We see this over and over.

The belief that the proper role of government is to shit on whatever group that the xenophobes decide are a problem to them, blacks, gays, hispanics, muslims...anybody that looks different is fair game.

The problem of course is that the Arizona solution is nonsense cooked up by a group of uneducated right wingers looking for a away to round up votes, as you correctly pointed out.

Immigration reform is desperately needed..as is border control.

Obviously imiigration reform will not be addressed because progress would make Obama look good and no Republican will do anything on behalf of the country if that would happen.

This ain't it, but any port in a storm for y'all I guess.....
